The Rotary Club of Keyworth and Ruddington’s very own Santa Claus will be visiting us again this year for his annual fundraising trips around the village. Santa and his sleigh will be here on Wednesday 21st & Friday 23rd December, complete with festive tunes to get everyone in the Christmas spirit and Santa’s Little Helpers to shake the collecting tins.
Last year, the Keyworth and Ruddington branch raised over £16,500. Some of this was donated to local charities including the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance. The funds were also used to support young people in our area with projects such as educational trips to Africa and to fund competition entries for budding chefs and musicians. The branch also supports a wide range of national charities including the Rotary-organised disaster relief organisations Aquabox and Shelterbox, Cancer Research, Help for Heroes, The Anthony Nolan Trust and the British Heart Foundation.
See the diary page for details of this year’s Santa visits in Ruddington.
As well as Santa’s visits to local villages, the Rotary Club of Keyworth and Ruddington arranges fundraising events throughout the year, including charity concerts and a popular Golf Day. They meet every Monday at the Country Cottage Hotel at 6.30pm. For more information, please contact the President, Grenville Turner, at granville.turner@ntlworld.com
