This year the Council will be organising the biggest Christmas event that Ruddington has ever seen. The comments from the public and local businesses have been loud and clear in terms of what local people want, and so that’s what is being done. Saturday December 5th during the afternoon and early evening (2.00 to 6.00 or later) is the date when …
High St will be closed to traffic with the businesses there remaining open and with stalls on the street selling hot food as well as their usual wares. Other businesses on Church St will be opening later as well.
There will be a marquee on The Green with stalls and mulled wine and a special Xmas ale, which will also be available in local pubs. A tree on The Green will be the focal point and there will be dancing around the tree when the lights have been switched on.
Santa Claus is coming and he will tour the centre of the village on his sleigh, and then he will be at St Peter’s Rooms to meet children.
Mince pies and refreshments will be available, and the profits will be gifted to the children’s wards at QMC.
The Methodist Church next door to St Peters Rooms will also open and offer refreshments.
If you are interested in having a stall, the cost is £10. The Council will provide a table. Please contact via e-mail christmas.ruddington@gmail.com or the Parish Council Office to make your booking. Don’t delay, spaces are limited.
We’ll provide a short update in the next edition of the newsletter.
Right now, we know this is going to be a marvellous event and that it will bring not only Ruddington people out to celebrate, but it will also attract visitors in to the village.
Please make a note in your diary now.
