From 2011 to 2018, Ruddington Fun provided FREE play events during the school holidays. A small group of volunteers organised and supervised these events, which attracted numerous children and their parents/carers at various venues around the village.
On August 7th this year, myself and six amazing volunteers held the first event for five years. This was made possible by the kind support of the Parish Council and the Co-op.
50 children and their parents/carers had a sociable, fun-filled two hours in St Peter’s Rooms. There were crafts, including Jellyfish, which were a firm favourite in the past and equally well received on this occasion. We had play dough, toys for the babies and toddlers, and a large blackout sensory tent. Refreshments of juice and biscuits were provided by the Co-op.
It was great to revive Ruddington Fun for a whole new generation of families who’d never experienced this type of event. It was also lovely to see past attendees.
Thank you to everyone who came along.
