Chris Churches, the Senior Groundsman at Ruddington Parish Council, is the runner up in this year’s national Groundsman of the Year Awards. This is a public and independent recognition of the excellent work that the groundstaff achieve under his leadership.
Chairman of the Amenities Committee, Councillor David Hall, said “The award is well merited and a recognition of the work of the entire team”.
Chris was nominated by the Ruddington Colts for the excellent work that he and the team do to provide top quality football pitches.
The Clerk to the Council, Gary Long, said “Whilst the award is from the national Football Association and focuses on that area the groundstaff team, led by Chris, provide top quality work in all that they do. It is a really well deserved award.”
