Chris Churches, Senior Groundsman, and Scott Evans, Qualified Groundsman, at Ruddington Parish Council, are the runners up in the Nottinghamshire FA Groundsman of the Year Awards 2016. This is a public and independent recognition of the excellent work that the groundstaff achieve.
Chairman of the Amenities Committee, Councillor David Hall, said “The award is well merited and a recognition of the outstanding work done by our ground staff”.
The Parish Council will be looking to strengthen the team in the next few months with the appointment of an apprentice grounds person to work with Chris and Scott.
The Clerk to the Council, Gary Long, said “Chris and Scott provide top quality work in all that they do. It is a really well deserved award. I am sure that any apprentice working with them will have the best possible example to follow”
