Patient Participation Group
The Medical Centre is looking for more volunteers to join the Patient Participation Group (PPG), to give patients and staff the opportunity to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest.
Anyone over the age of 16 and a patient at the practice can join in to help provide a communications channel between patients and the practice.
The PPG also helps the practice manage specific events such as the annual ‘flu clinics and publicising NHS screening programmes.
Other activities include running an annual patients’ satisfaction survey; monitoring the output of the Friends and Family Test; communicating areas of patients’ concern with a view to influencing change; finding out more about healthcare provision in the area, etc.
The group meets every six weeks for an hour or so at the practice, normally at 6.30pm – a time chosen hopefully to fit in with working patients and parents post teatime.
The GPs and other staff at the practice are always keen to foster greater patient involvement between the PPG and the medical team. Current members, most of whom have served for many years, say they always feel welcomed in the practice for the work they do.
Interested? Contact the PPG by e-mail at rmc.ppg@virginmedia.com or leave a message with Reception and someone will get back to you.
