The fourth Ruddington Open Gardens event, held in aid of Save the Children and Action for Children, was a huge success.
This was all thanks to the tremendous support of local gardeners and allotment holders, village businesses, the Ruddington Yarn Ninjas, the Methodist Church, St Peter’s Church, and our main sponsor, Ridge Energy. We were also extremely lucky to have a weekend of dry and sometimes sunny weather!
We’re very grateful to those village businesses who sold programmes for us in advance, and to Ruddington Co-op and the Framework Knitters Museum, who allowed us to sell programmes before the event.
Thank you, too, to Thomas James for erecting their boards so the gardens could easily be identified.
Many thanks to everyone who came along (we estimate between 500 and 600 people) to visit the gardens, allotments and all the other attractions during the course of the weekend.
I’m delighted to report that the event raised well over £6,000, which will be shared between the two charities. Hopefully, we’ll be able to organise another Open Gardens event in 2026!
