Planning is now well under way for an Open Gardens event in Ruddington, in aid of Save the Children, during the weekend of 25th/26th June 2016.
Several residents have already kindly offered to open their gardens/allotments or to provide help in other ways. Both the Methodist Church and St Peter’s Church are keen to be involved and I am hopeful that other village organisations, such as the W.I and the Framework Knitters’ Museum will also join in.
To make the event really successful, however, we need more gardens to be open. Your garden doesn’t have to be big or splendid – we are not looking for prize-winning exhibits, just pleasant gardens that visitors will enjoy wandering around! The more variety we have, the better.
If anyone would be interested in getting involved in any way at all, please do contact me by e-mail on je.piggott@btinternet.com or via the Parish Office. Many thanks.
