A huge thank you to everyone who was involved in this event in any way at all –to the gardeners who volunteered to open their lovely gardens,
- to the Methodist Church for hosting the live music and providing refreshments,
- to St Peter’s School,
- to Harewood Gardens allotments,
- to all the helpers who manned stalls or collected ticket money or poured teas, and
- to the nearly 300 people who visited the gardens despite the very unsettled weather.
We were also fortunate to have the enthusiastic support of the Frame Breakers pub, the Framework Knitters’ Museum and the Parish Council.
I am delighted to report that the event raised almost £1,500 for our two charities, Save the Children and Action for Children. Hopefully, we will be able to hold another- even bigger and better – Open Gardens event in the future!
