Following the success of the first event in summer 2016, there’ll be a second Ruddington Open Gardens in June 2018, which we hope will be even bigger and better than before.
The date is the weekend of 23rd and 24th June, so please make a note in your diaries now! Once again, all proceeds from the event will be shared between Save the Children and Action for Children.
If any Ruddington residents would like to open their gardens, please contact me as soon as possible. Your garden doesn’t have to be big or splendid – we’re not looking for prize-winning exhibits, just pleasant gardens that visitors will enjoy wandering around. In fact, last time, some of the smallest gardens were amongst the most popular. Even a hanging basket display at the front of your house would make a welcome addition to the programme!
Also, if any village organisations (Brownies, Cubs, WI, church groups etc) would like to be involved in whatever way, please let me know. We want to make this a truly village-wide affair! Hopefully, we’ll have various stalls on offer as well as live musical entertainment and refreshments on both days.
If you’d like to be involved, please contact me by email at je.piggott@btinternet.com or via the Parish Office. Many thanks.
