At the December 2019 Parish Council meeting, the Council voted to adopt the Armed Forces Covenant. Councillor Wayne Rogers and I put ourselves forward to become the Covenant Champions for this area.
The Armed Forces Covenant was set up by the MOD and has been adopted by many businesses and organisations throughout the U.K. For more information about the Covenant, please visit: www.armedforcescovenant.gov.uk.
As an ex-soldier who’s served in Northern Ireland twice in the 1970s as well as in other postings, I can relate to the many issues that serving and ex-forces personnel can face in our ever-changing world.
The Covenant has bought together a wealth of information and contacts for both serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their families. For advice or a chat, please contact either myself or Councillor Rogers via the Parish Office on 0115 914 6660 or email office@ruddingtonparishcouncil.gov.uk.
Or, you can call in at the Councillors’ Surgery held at St Peter’s Rooms from 10am to 12pm on the second Saturday of each month, except August and December.
