For one night only, Ruddington Village Market will be transformed into “Makers’ Night” this month, as they present a special craft event across multiple village venues. This latest event builds on the success of the monthly Ruddington Village Market, which launched in February this year, and has grown in popularity and reputation right across the region.
Taking place on Friday 21st June from 6pm until 9pm, Makers’ Night sees The Cottage Hotel, The Frame Breakers, and The White Horse Inn all play host to over 30 craft stalls and street foods, forming what the organisers, Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP), envisage as a “craft trail” through the heart of the village.
Visitors will spot some familiar and popular craft stallholders from previous market days, plus a host of new stalls. What’s more, a number of village shops and cafés plan to stay open late too, making it a night-time village event for residents and visitors alike.
Mark Pinks, one of the founders of RVCP, said “As the regular market has grown, we’ve had so much interest from quality crafters wanting a stall. They’ve always been popular, and we can’t fit them all in every month, so we decided to have a one-off special craft market and take advantage of the light summer evenings. By having the event across three village centre venues, we hope this is another way we can encourage visitors to browse our independent shops and cafes as they move between venues, and enjoy a drink and something to eat as they browse.”
