With less than four weeks’ notice, Ruddington Gardeners’ Association hosted a very successful village show on Saturday 18th September.
A terrific response from RGA members and the public resulted in St Peter’s Rooms being filled with a colourful display of vegetables and flowers, not forgetting the children’s wonderful paintings and vegetable animals. In total, 47 exhibitors staged 156 entries. Malcolm Fisher, the judge, commented on the excellent quality of the exhibits.
The show was supported by stands from Nottingham Country Markets, Nottinghamshire Bee Keepers, Ruddington Art and Craft Society and local wild-life photographers Martin and Jill Basson.
The show also enabled Ruddington and District U3A to advertise their extensive activities, with “hands-on” demonstrations by artist Peter Johnson-Marshall and his colleagues.
Many thanks to everyone who supported the village show this year. Planning has already begun for the next Ruddington Village Show, so please keep Saturday 17th September 2022 free in your diaries. Other important dates are Saturday and Sunday 2nd and 3rd July 2022 for Ruddington Open Gardens. More details later!
