Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC’s) garden waste service, that gives gardeners regular green bin collections for less than 91p a week, is open for new and existing customers.
You can sign up or re-subscribe now at https://www.rushcliffe.gov.uk/news-area/renew-or-join-the-rushcliffe-garden-waste-service-for-hassle-free-green-collections/, with emails and letters inviting residents to re-join the service also being distributed.
You can place grass cuttings, hedge clippings, twigs and small branches, weeds with excess soil shaken off, flowers, plants, leaves and bark in the green bins to help keep your garden looking fantastic in 2025.
You can also manage your garden waste collections with MyAccount, a one stop shop for many RBC services. You can log into or register for MyAccount at https://selfservice.rushcliffe.gov.uk/Login.
It means you can sign up, pay for additional green bins for your property and check when your next green bin collection is due, all in the same place.
RBC’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Environment and Safety, Cllr Rob Inglis, said: “Our service continues to represent good value for money, is far cheaper than other private collection options and saves unnecessary time and fuel heading to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.
The green waste we collect is recycled and reused at a site just outside the Borough in Oxton, meaning the scheme is great for the environment too.”
“We encourage residents to sign up using MyAccount, where you can not only manage your garden waste collection, but also report anything from a missed bin collection to an overgrown hedge with just a few clicks online.”
The service costs £47, which entitles green-fingered residents to year-round fortnightly collections, apart from a short period over Christmas and New Year, with extra bins costing £37 each.
After applying to the scheme, you’ll be issued with a sticker to be placed on the rear of your bin to show our waste collection operatives it’s been paid for.
