Plans are now well under way for our Save the Children Fun Dog Show on Saturday 20th May. We’ll be at Rushcliffe Country Park on the large field opposite the children’s play area, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm.
The show classes are as follows:
- Waggiest tail
- Most handsome dog
- Prettiest bitch
- Most appealing eyes
- Most attractive puppy (under 12 months old)
- Best rescue dog (a dog from a shelter)
- Golden Oldie (over 10 years old)
- Glossiest coat
- Child’s best friend (handler to be under 12 years old)
- Best trick.
You’re welcome to enter your pet into as many classes as you wish; the cost per entry is £2. Entries can be registered on the day from 12.30pm and the judging will begin at 1pm. You can also register in advance by picking up an entry form from The Pet Pantry on the High Street.
We ask that all dogs entered into any class are fully vaccinated. All competing dogs will receive a certificate and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed pets will also receive rosettes.
As well as the show itself, there’ll be plenty of other attractions: an agility demonstration, a pet photographer and several trade stalls for you to take a look at.
Build a Bond Dog Training have offered to run a ‘have a go’ session for anyone who’d like to give training a try.
The Women’s Institute will have a cake and craft stall and there’ll be a Save the Children stall selling bric a brac, books and toys. We’ll also be making a collection for Save the Children – look out for the giant dog!
Please keep everything crossed for good weather and come along and join us for what we hope will be a fun afternoon. We look forward to seeing you and your furry friends!
