Ruddington Fun used to provide free holiday activities, but unfortunately no longer do so. However they’ve maintained their Facebook page, “Ruddington Fun”, to inform families of activities happening locally that may be of interest to them. It’s well worth a look.
The Griswold Gang at the Framework Knitters Museum will be holding sessions during the summer. These are themed, craft-based activities held in the Chapel at the museum. A donation of £1 is welcomed and children must be accompanied by an adult. Check the museum’s Facebook page for more details, or look out for posters around the village.
The museum is currently looking for more volunteers to help out with the Griswold Gang. If you’d like to get involved, please contact Jim or Helen on 0115 984 6914.
Other popular activities in the summer are the sessions held at Rushcliffe Country Park during August. The rangers run sessions based around Pond and Woodland Mini -Beasts and Den Building, which cost £4.50 per child. All children must be accompanied by an adult and there are limited places, so you’ll need to book. You can call the Rangers’ Office on 0115 921 5865 or email countrypark@rushcliffe.gov.uk for more details
Don’t forget about the Village Museum, GCRN and the parks and Playgrounds we have around Ruddington. It’s always worth keeping an eye on the various Parish Council noticeboards around the village. Also, check for notices in shop windows and the local supermarkets for anything else that may be happening.
Have a great summer!
