St Peter’s Church, Ruddington
Saturday 16th September, 2pm to 5pm
Is your teddy brave enough to make a parachute jump from the church roof? Our second Teddy Bear Parachute Jump will take place on Saturday 16th September 2023, in aid of Save the Children.
The idea is for children (and any adults who might be interested) to make parachutes for their teddies or other soft toys and then bring them along on the day to register to make the jump from the church roof. There are lots of instructions available online about making parachutes from plastic bags, fabrics or paper – the choice of material is entirely up to you.
A single jump will cost just £2 and all further jumps will cost £1. All toys successfully completing the jump will receive a certificate and there’ll be prizes for the best parachutes.
There’ll also be stalls on offer on the day, either in the church grounds or inside the church if wet. All proceeds from the event will go to Save the Children.

You might also like to visit the Village Show, which will be taking place in St Peter’s Rooms on the same day. If any children would like to enter the show (with a prize for all entries), you can either make an animal from vegetables/fruits, do a painting of flowers, decorate a wooden spoon, make a miniature garden on a plate, or create something from recycled materials.
There are also over 40 categories for adults to enter, refreshments on offer courtesy of the W.I. and various stalls. Entry to the Show is free! You’ll find full details in this article.
