We really want to know what’s important to you about future housebuilding in Ruddington. To help us to find out, leaflets about the Ruddington Neighbourhood Plan have been delivered to every home and business in Ruddington. This is extremely important to the future of our village.
But what is a Neighbourhood Plan? Neighbourhood planning gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area. Through a Neighbourhood Plan, Ruddington can influence how the village is enhanced and protected through the built development that will take place in the years to come.
Your leaflet contains details of how to complete an online questionnaire. By completing this questionnaire you can influence the future of Ruddington. Alternatively, you can complete it by clicking on the following link: www.ruddingtonnp.org.uk/survey. Issues covered by the questionnaire include housing and development, transport and highways, the environment and leisure and recreation, but there are many more. All you’ll be asked to do is to indicate the level of priority you’d attach to each issue. There’s a box for any additional comments you might have.
Please make sure you complete the questionnaire before Saturday 30th June 2018. Also, please note that this isn’t a “one response per household” questionnaire, it’s “one per person”. We’d like to encourage every member of the family to complete one, from the youngest to the most senior. And, if anyone works in the village but doesn’t live here, they’re entitled to speak up too.
Paper copies of the questionnaire are available as well and should be returned to the Ruddington Parish Council Office by the same date: Saturday 30th June.
The Neighbourhood Plan Project Team has appointed Urban Imprint, a company which specialises in this field, as consultants to advise them. Two Consultation Events are being held in the St Peter’s Rooms. Urban Imprint will be there and will be doing presentations. Members of the Project Team will also be there, so these events are your opportunity to learn more about the Plan Process and to discuss with, and ask questions of, the people who compiled the questionnaire.
The Consultation Events are taking place on Tuesday 5th June 2018 from 3.00pm until 8.00pm and Saturday 9th June 2018 from 10.00am until 4.00pm.
More information about the Neighbourhood Plan can be found online at www.ruddingtonnp.org.uk. You can also follow us on Facebook at “Ruddington Neighbourhood Plan” and Twitter @RuddingtonNP.
Please come along to one of our events and tell us what you think. But, most importantly of all, please take the time to fill in a questionnaire and have your say.
Councillors Paul Reedman and Mark Pinks
