As residents will have noticed, contractors have started work on upgrading the gas mains along Wilford Road.
The works, scheduled to run from Monday 3rd February to Friday 28th February, will cover a 130-metre stretch between the junctions of Manor Park and Easthorpe Street.
The affected stretch runs through the busiest part of the village where residential, commercial and through traffic converge – amplifying the potential impact.
To manage the works, temporary traffic signals have been implemented as follows:
- Four-way signals at the High Street junction.
- Three-way signals at the Manor Park junction, with temporary deactivation of existing signals.
The restrictions will operate 24 hours a day throughout the project to ensure continuous progress.
The roadworks are expected to cause significant delays, particularly during peak hours, with local drivers and commuters facing longer journey times.
