One person’s trash is another person’s treasure…
There is now a Facebook group for the residents of Ruddington to gift their unwanted items to other local people. If you have anything which you no longer need, would rather not sell, or were thinking about throwing away, it is worth seeing if anyone else locally would appreciate it. Also if you are looking for something someone might have knocking about, please post and ask. Gifting is becoming more and more popular these days, I hope this group will help people declutter and also receive items they need or would like. Many people have used Freecycle in the past and it really helps to have a clear out, and helps others too. I’m sure most of you have stuff you need to get rid of, now there is no excuse….
To join in with this initiative you need to request to join the group, which can be found at www.facebook.com/groups/RuddingtonRecycle
A full description of the group can be found on the page but a brief overview of the rules are: Items must be free and given, not borrowed or sold. Usually it is a first come first serve basis and items would be collected, unless delivery has been arranged. Obviously this is a kind hearted group, and it is assumed that everyone using the group will keep it that way. No receiving gifted items to sell on, for obvious reasons, it goes against the purpose and ethics of the group, there will be zero tolerance on this.
Please come and join us and recycle items to other local people, the more people in the group. The more successful it will be. (Laura Vere – See also Ruddington Mums on Facebook)
