We’re sorry to announce that the Wednesday Coffee Club in St Peter’s Rooms won’t be reopening as other things get back to normal.
Lorna McCullough, who’s been organising this Morning for over 25 years, finds she cannot cope after her stroke. Meanwhile, Pat and Judy, who’ve helped over all the years, feel they won’t be able to help either.
All we need to rectify this is for a couple of people to think about taking it over. All it needs is two or three of you to get together to organise it, and I promise you it will run itself! It has always been very popular and some people are still hoping it will come back.
It was never meant to be a money-raising organisation, but we’ve been able to put some money back into the village. We’ve given £100 to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and £200 to the Ruddington Methodist Church towards their new refurbishment.
We’d like to take the chance to thank all who supported the Coffee Morning over the years, whether helping, or coming along every week to support us and each other. If you wish to learn more with a view to running this popular morning, the Parish Council have my (Lorna’s) details, so please get in touch.
Thanks to so many people for so many happy years.
Lorna, Pat and Judy
