The White Horse Inn on Church Street will be hosting its annual wine festival on Friday 15 and 16 July. Over 50 wines from leading UK and international vineyards will be available to sample over the two days, along with an impressive selection of 12 local cheeses to complement the different grape varieties. The event will also feature a cocktail bar throughout the two days.
Landlord Andy Hunt comments: “After the success of our first Wine Festival last year, we’re delighted that this is now an annual event at The White Horse. Our 2016 Wine Festival is a great opportunity for wine-lovers to sample some new and exciting wines that you won’t find anywhere else. These include Ice Wines – a type of dessert wine made from grapes that have been frozen whilst still on the vine, giving a concentrated, very sweet taste.
‘If you’re new to the world of wine, our event will give you a great introduction as we’ll have experts on hand to explain the different varieties and help you choose wines that suit your palate. There’ll be live music to keep you entertained, and our renowned stone-baked pizzas will be available in 6 inch tasting sizes for just £5 each.”
Wine tasting cards are available at the event, or at a reduced price in advance. For further details, please call the pub on 0115 984 4550 or email andy@whitehorse-inn.co.uk.
