Nottinghamshire Police are on the hunt for more men and women to join the Force as volunteer police officers, known as Special Constables.
Special Constables are fully trained and warranted officers who perform the same duties, wear the same uniform and have the same powers in law as their full-time “regular” counterparts.
In Nottinghamshire, Specials perform a wide range of duties including forming part of dedicated Neighbourhood and Response Teams, as well as forming part of specialist teams which include Public Protection, Rural and Wildlife Crime, Operational Support, Corporate Communication, Operational Planning and more.
Specials come from all walks of life and bring with them an array of skills and experiences which complement those of the Force’s full-time police officers.
The Force is hoping receive applications from those who want to give something back to their community whilst enjoying the role of a Special Constable alongside their existing careers.
So if you want to establish a challenging and rewarding chapter in your life, or if you’re retired and want to simply give something back, there’s not been a better time than now to consider singing up as a Special Constable.
Or, if you know a colleague, family member or friend who’d make a good Special Constable, please do encourage them to apply! Recruitment closes on Friday 6th July 2018. To find out more, visit www.nottinghamshire.police.uk/specials.
