Parking
The Parish Council owns and maintains a free car park at the side of the Co-op supermarket on Church Street, with room for 30 vehicles including one disabled bay. There is a one-way system with cars entering from Church Street and exiting on to Shaw Street.
The Parish Council also has an agreement with The White Horse Inn on Church Street that the left hand side (as you face the pub) of their car park can be used for general parking between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday. Please respect this facility and don’t park outside these hours, or on the right hand side of the car park, unless you’re visiting the pub.
There’s plenty of on-street parking around the village, but some areas have 2 hour time limits at certain times of the day so please check before you park. Please also respect residents’ and business owners’ access rights and don’t block driveways, pavements or walkways.
Please note that parking is prohibited on Dutton’s Hill on Wilford Road between 8am and 9:15am, and between 5pm and 6:30pm, Monday to Saturday.
As well as the disabled parking bay in the Co-op car park, disabled parking is also available outside the Co-op and outside Ruddington Medical Centre on Church Street.
Residents’ Parking Scheme: Charles Street and Parkyns Street
In 2019, Nottinghamshire County Council approved a decision to introduce permit-only parking on most of the parking space available on Charles Street and Parkyns Street. The restrictions are in operation between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday, so please don’t park in permit-only bays during these times, unless you live on one of the streets.
NOTE: Our village has regular visits from traffic enforcement personnel who issue Fixed Penalty tickets to people who disregard the time restrictions or Residents’ Parking Scheme, or who park illegally, e.g. across dropped kerbs or on double yellow lines.
